Fire Analyst/Principal

Mr. Smith has been conducting Fire Analysis for the past 31 years throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. His background includes Professional Firefighter, Police Officer, Paramedic and Criminal Investigator. He began his career in the Metro Atlanta area and has been involved with Fire Analysis throughout his career in both criminal and civil matters. His degree is in Fire Science and he has been both a student and instructor for the National Fire Academy. He has achieved numerous awards for his career achievements as well as his citizenship efforts, including Honorary Ambassador and Outstanding Citizen of the Year awards. Mr. Smith has graduated from numerous courses of study including Electrical Analysis of Fires, Forensic Interview Techniques, and various other courses relating to the investigation and analysis of fires including his recognition as a Certified Fire Investigator through the I.A.A.I.. Mr. Smith founded his company after spending 7 years as the Senior Fire Analyst for a large forensic engineering firm. Bryan Cash, C.F.I., C.V.F.I.

Senior Fire Analyst

Mr. Cash began his career working his way through the ranks of a Metro-Atlanta Fire Department achieving the rank of Deputy Fire Chief. Prior to joining our staff he was a public sector Fire Investigator conducting fire scene analysis to determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions.  Mr. Cash is a Certified Fire Investigator with over 100 additional certifications all relating to the study of Fire Science.  Mr. Cash has a degree in Fire Science and has dedicated his career to the analysis of fire scenes to determine the origin and cause of fires.  He has conducted hundreds of Fire Scene examinations and has been qualified in court as an Origin & Cause Expert.  His full resume can be obtained by contacting our office at 770-972-5584.

David M. Stapleton C.F.I.

Fire Analyst

Mr. Stapleton has worked with us for the past 9 years. He has extensive experience in structure fire analysis as well as vehicle fire analysis and has conducted over 600 fire scene investigations. He is a former metro Atlanta Criminal Fire Investigator, Firefighter and Paramedic. Mr. Stapleton has a degree in Fire Science and achieved the rank of Lieutenant during his public safety career. He is also a certified Hazardous Materials Technician. Mr. Stapleton is available for assignments throughout North America. Landon Brown C.F.I.(V)

Senior Fire Analyst

Mr. Brown began his career as a professional Firefighter and EMT, he then transitioned into Fire Investigation after completing his degree in BioChemistry. His real world experience in both the private and public sector provides him critical insights into the fires he analyzes and investigates. He is a Certified Fire Investigator (C.F.I.(V)) who has been involved in Fire Analysis throughout the country for some of the largest manufacturers, insurance companies, and law firms. With over 9 years of experience in Fire Analysis, Mr. Brown has been court qualified as an expert in Fire Origin & Cause Analysis. His attention to detail, methodical thought process, and extensive knowledge base in a variety of fields, allows him to offer clients a wide range of both technical and professional knowledge. Rod Wilson C.F.I.

Fire Analyst

Mr. Wilson gained his experience through his work as a Professional Firefighter in Metro Atlanta.  He has completed his degree if Fire Science and has also attained the rank of Battalion Chief. He has been with David Smith & Associates for the past 7 years conducting fire scene analysis and assisting with testing and research.  He is a Certified Fire Investigator through the I.A.A.I. and has completed hundreds of fire scene investigations. In addition, Mr. Wilson is a Hazardous Materials Technician certified to operate in hazardous materials environments.

J.R. (John) Tucker

Fire Analyst

Mr. Tucker gained his experience through his work as a criminal Fire Investigator in Metro Atlanta. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant and has extensive work experience and expertise in the field of Fire Investigations. He began working with David H. Smith & Associates since 2013 as a Fire Investigation Technician assisting our team with investigative tasks and evidence collection matters. He has worked in the fire investigation field as a criminal investigator and has been a firefighter since 2001. He is currently completing his Certified Fire Investigator certification (October 2019) and has completed over 300 fire scene investigations. In addition, Mr. Tucker is a Hazardous Materials Technician certified to operate in hazardous materials environments.
